Klaas Puul and Skretting partner to supply sustainable shrimp to European supermarkets

Leading Netherlands-based shrimp importer Klaas Puul is teaming up with Nutreco-owned Skretting, the largest shrimp feed manufacturer in Ecuador, and Dutch sustainable feed ingredient suppliers Protix and Veramaris to supply supermarkets across Europe with more sustainable shrimp produced in Latin America.

Around the world almost 20% of wild capture fish is solely used to feed other fish, putting huge pressure on vulnerable marine ecosystems. Veramaris and other key microalgae stakeholders have submitted a letter to Carmen Preising, Deputy Head of Cabinet of the European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, expressing our commitment to working with The European Commission on their #EU4Algae initiative.
